2013 Volkswagen CC

2013 CC

Many adjectives have been used to describe the Volkswagen CC over its three year life. Strangely, the majority of these words (e.g., "lithe"; "sexy"; "sultry") seem to pertain to an act that, as far as we know, automobiles are both physically and emotionally incapable of. So why are they used? One glance in the general direction of a CC, and you'll see why.

Although its face has aged like a bottle of fine wine, the first generation CC is now half way through its lifecycle. For a car, as for natives of Bevery Hills, this can only mean one thing: facelift time. "But Audrey Hepburn never needed a facelift!" You're right, she didn't. And we follow your logic, believe us.

But fear not, for we have seen the 2013 CC; "lithe", "sexy" and "sultry" are as apt now as they ever were! The front grill is a more rakish take on what has become VW's corporate face, and the car has a slightly more serious countenance than before. Think of Hepburn in the closing scene of Roman Holiday, then add four doors, 18" rims… Well, perhaps just refer to the photos on this page.

Beyond the styling, the 2013 CC will offer you more bang for you buck. Bi-xenon high intensity discharge headlights are now standard, as are LED taillights and handy adaptive front lighting. But that's about all we know for sure. The price likely won't differ much from the current CC, if at all, but we've yet to receive official pricing information from Volkswagen Canada.

One last thing: the 2013 CC should arrive at Clarkdale very early in the new year. If you find yourself sneaking down to the computer at night to scour the Internet for sultry pictures of the CC, you might want to think about putting down a deposit on one. 2012 CCs had a tendency to (Holly) Go-quickly. You can bet the 2013s will go even quicker.
